Ingress and egress

Uploads are free. Downloads are free up to your plan size in each period.

Ingress is data you upload to Zata. Egress is data you download or read from Zata. Neither is charged extra, but egress has a limit per billing period.

Uploads (ingress)

Uploads are free and unlimited. What you upload counts only towards your storage.

Downloads (egress)

Each plan includes egress equal to its storage size in every 30-day billing period. For example, the Standard plan (5 TB) includes 5 TB of egress per period.

  • Egress from both regions counts towards the same allowance.
  • Downloads by your sub-users count towards your allowance too.
  • The count starts again at zero with each new billing period.
  • You see your egress use in the plan bar on the dashboard and under Billing.
  • You get a notification when you reach 80%, 90% and 100% of your allowance.

If you go over the allowance

There is no charge for extra egress. Instead, when your egress goes over the allowance, your account is suspended, including your sub-users. Billing shows Account Suspended — Egress Exceeded.

To restore access, upgrade to a larger plan. Renewing the same plan is not possible in this case. You pay the full price of the new plan, its 30-day period starts on the day you pay, and your egress count starts again from zero. See Billing.

If you expect to download more than your plan size, for example to move data out, upgrade before you start.
